Week 6

We will say goodbye to Edward and Tom on Monday by writing an on-demand focusing on the last chapter of the novel, The Prince and the Pauper.  On Tuesday, we will turn our attention to non-fiction and say hello to Helen Keller in her novel, The Story of My Life. While we read her fascinating story, we'll practice our written responses and analyze central idea and interactions of story elements.  Our cycle three words will be introduced this week with a fun activity on multiple meanings and slang words. In the middle of the week we will reflect on our first cold assessment and take a cold quiz. Helen Keller and vocabulary will be our focus the rest of the week. However, on Friday, we will read Helen's story from a different perspective in the play, The Miracle Worker. Once we read this version, we'll be able to compare and contrast the two accounts.
