Week 3

Students will spend this week reviewing literature and informational standards using short stories, poems, and articles. They will practice recognizing and understanding the function of figurative language, dialect, character interactions, and argument. On Friday , students will take Cold Assessment 4.1 .

Week 2

We will continue practicing skills we have learned all year. This week will focus on informational texts and skills such as main idea, text structures, and finding evidence. Students will complete informational stations on Tuesday. Then, on Wednesday ,  Mini-Assessment 4.1 will be taken. The students will write an on-demand essay on Thursda y and complete stations on Friday to revise their essays. Cycle 12 vocab. quiz will be taken as well.

Week 1

Welcome Back!! We hope you are  refreshed and ready for the last stretch. The next few weeks will be a review of lessons we have learned throughout the year. Students will review literary analysis, argument and narrative writing this week. They will practice vocabulary and multiple choice as well. Cold Quiz 4.1 will be taken on Thursday and an on-demand writing will be written on Friday .

Week 9

We made it to the final week before Spring Break! This week will be project based with a few lessons on narrative. On Monday and Tuesday we will focus on dialogue and rewriting endings of narratives. Then, students will work on their Jack London Short Story Project . On Wednesday , they will take Cold Quiz 3.6 and work on their projects. On Thursday , students will  begin the day by taking the Cycle 11 Vocab. Quiz . Afterwards, they will present their projects. Friday will be a makeup day/ a time to compare visual versions to the written stories we've read.
